My colleague and friend Seth Cropsey has a piece up at World Affairs that I consider a must-read. Taken from a lecture he delivered at a Center for Naval Analyses symposium last summer, it ties together nicely Mahan's concepts of national power, China's apparent grasp of them, and our growing distance from them.
