Five Good Reads - NWC Summer 2008 Edition

The Summer 2008 Naval War College Review has been published. Interesting topics this quarter, in particular we are looking forward to discussing William S. Murray's piece, who is always producing excellent content towards the China discussion. In particular, this is the best book ever written regarding the Chinese submarine discussion, and should be on the reading list of every officer serving in the Pacific (any country). Below are the five primary articles of the Summer 2008 Review.
Revisiting Taiwan's Defense Strategy, William S.Murray

Reflections on Future War, Mackubin Thomas Owens

The Effect of Tactical Ballistic Missiles on the Maritime Strategy of China, Wang Wei, translated by OS3 Danling Cacioppo, U.S. Navy

Developing the Navy's Operational Leaders, Commander Christopher D. Hayes, U.S. Navy

China and the United States in the Indian Ocean, An Emerging Strategic Triangle?, James R. Holmes and Toshi Yoshihara
The full Summer 2008 Review is available for download here. The Naval War College is also using a new portal which makes the articles available individually.
