Open Thread Again

I'm way behind in email. Last open thread.

Everything on the front page here and here is solid gold.

Peter this one is for you, where this one is for the rest of us.

See first comment here, that's what I call top cover.

This is very interesting.

Nagl concludes with LCS chit chat, maybe we should compare notes. His group hasn't produced anything on naval power worth reading yet, at least nothing I've seen.

Part 1 and Part 2. I don't need to blog when such excellence is available online.

---

This little absence highlights the limitations of a one man show. I have for awhile been giving serious thought to expanding the blog to more authors. So, this is what I'm thinking.

1) If you are interested, email me. I'm treating the blog as property and no one is going to take a crap on my lawn. However, with that said, I'm interested in getting 2 more bloggers here that can start and flow a conversation.

2) Clearly "Galrahn" has somehow become a brand, with the first rate battleship, cruisers, flotilla, etc. slang etc. Anyone who wants to blog here needs to carefully consider their brand. Make it unique or steal from history, I'd suggest the combination of both will work in your favor.

3) You can be anonymous on the blog all you want, but if you are active duty you have to get permission. You don't have to tell the world who you are, but you do have to tell the Navy or Marines if you're active duty. If you are private sector, you can be as anonymous as you want.

4) The key is to remain interesting. This is an opinion blog, we don't break news here. We don't tell people what to think, we tell people what we think.

5) Open to suggestions on this. No doubt any new comer will have to earn their way, and trust me, it isn't easy. The nice thing about the subject matter here is that people will tell you what they think.
