These are two very interesting news items in India.
First is the drama of Lockheed Martin in India, related to the 126 Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) competition, a fighter contract worth an estimated $11 billion.
The second is this interview in Defence Professionals of Manu Sood, Editor of the India-based online news service 8ak (http://www.8ak.in). It is a lot of talk about Kitty Hawk. I don't know about some mystical Quad Initiative, but it does raise something important.
The US should already be talking to Australia about rotating a F-18 E/F squadron to the USS George Washington (CVN 73) on a regular basis, and begin mentioning the idea to the Indians. Execute the Cooperative maritime strategy and take a bit of risk in peacetime by investing in partnerships with those who in turn, invest in us.
