Fiscal Year 2010 Budget - Final

The FY2010 defense bill is in the final stages before being signed by the President. There are a few noteworthy items, including a final tally of 7 US Navy ships, and 1 US Army JHSV. The 7 US Navy ships break down as:

The only thing we know for sure is that 7 is higher than the 5.3 average of the last 16 years, but the Navy is still well below a path towards 300 ships.
