Some of you might have already seen the sudden appearance of another email adress in the contributors list. That is because Galrahn has invited me to join Information Dissemination, so an introduction is the logical first piece to write.
Who am I?
I'm GvG and I live on the European side of the Atlantic, in the Netherlands. I have a MSc in human geography and chances are it will show in some of my posts. I have no links to the defence industry nor the MoD, Coast Guard, armed forces or such organizations, but am very much interested in defence and especially the Dutch navy.
My writing?
Because of my interest in the Dutch navy a large amount of my posts will likely involve them. But I'll also try to add a European perspective. (Expect a piece on 'Europe' as a whole and the difficulties with a single European perspective soon.)
You'll have to put up with my grammar mistakes and mixing the Queen's and American English.
I think a good blog is a two way street. So I'm hoping that, in keeping with a good tradition here at Information Dissemination, you'll learn something from my posts and I will learn (a lot) from the excellent commentators on this blog.
