Navy CO... Un-Fired

asAs Tom Ricks mentioned and has been confirmed on SailorBob, LT CDR Matt Tucker, who was relieved of command as CO of USS Devastator (MCM 6) in March of 2009, has had his Detach for Cause vacated by the Navy.

25 months.

Some folks have pointed out that LCDR Tucker has handled this with complete class, working at Naval Mine and ASW Command without the situation becoming a distraction while he worked the system to clear the record.

Contrast that with other COs fired, like Owen Honors.

I agree with Tom Ricks, the Navy should put LCDR Tucker in command of a ship again. Adversity doesn't define character; it reveals it, and even without the details of this case I think we all know a great deal about LCDR Tucker's character without needing to see the details.

Congratulations sir!
