How To End Your Political Career: Austrian Minister Darabos

Austrian Defence Minister Norbert Darabos sacked his Chief of Defence General Edmund Entacher in January, after the latter publicily criticized the Minister (once) because of his plans to end conscription.

This resulted in the Austrian Association of Officers demanding the Minister's resignation. They called his actions Stalinistic and claimed he threatened everyone with another opinion with 'personal consequences'.
Even in Darabos' own party criticism grew.

General Entacher appealed his termination with the Austrian Appeals Commission, who have now ruled in his favour.

After antagonizing the majority of the officers and failing to get his coalition partner ÖVP on board for the establishment of a professional army, there is only one option: resign.
