Billy Mitchell's War with the Navy

I'm plowing into Thomas Wildenberg's Billy Mitchell's War with the Navy: The Army Air Corps and the Challenge to Seapower. Promises to be some interesting stuff. On Mitchell's first meeting with Trenchard:
In May, Mitchell made an unannounced visit to the headquarters of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC), demanding to see its commander, Maj. Gen. Hugh Trenchard. When Trenchard’s aide-de-camp politely suggested that another day might be more convenient, Mitchell brashly remarked that “as an official observer attached to the American General Staff, he had no mind to waste his own or anyone else’s time.” At that point Trenchard, who was just leaving to inspect his outlying squadrons, entered the room. Trenchard asked Mitchell what he needed. Mitchell replied that he wanted to learn all about the RFC, including its organization, equipment, and system of supply. He demanded to know everything about its aerial operations, too, for the Americans, he told Trenchard, would be joining them shortly. This was quite a large order.
